Ohio State University may have a new head coach of the football team, now that Ohio native Urban Meyer has been contacted about the job. Current head coach Luke Fickell was named interim head coach earlier this year, after Jim Tressel’s abrupt resignation. But Fickell has had a challenging season. The Buckeyes are usually at the top of the Big 10 conference and national championship contenders. This season, they’re not even ranked.

The news about Meyer comes after the Buckeyes’ loss to Penn State University. According to ESPN, Meyer has denied that he’s going to Ohio State and said, “I’ve not been offered any job, and I’ve certainly not accepted any job.” Notice how he didn’t deny having talks with the school?

Meyer currently works as a broadcaster for ESPN, but is best known for his success as the head coach at the University of Florida. The Gators won ove 100 games and two national championships under Meyer’s decade of leadership. He resigned in 2010 to spend more time with his family.
