Charlotte is going bananas! Tuesday banana giant Chiquita Brands, Inc. confirmed the company will move its headquarters from Cincinnati to Charlotte next year. The move is expected to generate nearly 400 jobs locally, with the average salary for employees around $100,000.
According to The Charlotte Observer, the company made a decision to move its headquarters to Charlotte because of the incentives – more than $22 million in state and local incentives and the promise of easier international travel.
The company will potentially move into the NASCAR building in downtown Charlotte.
