I absolutely love Valentine’s Day because it is the one day that I can show my sentimental side without people thinking there is something wrong. But the one thing I hate is that most people don’t take the time to really show people they love them on this day. While I recognize it’s a commercial holiday and most men (and some women) just want the day to be over, there is a value in celebrating love on Valentine’s Day. For me the day is not about what you can buy for someone, but about how much you can SHOW them that you really love them. Notice I said show. Actions speak louder than words and it means so much more when the gifts are from the heart. With that said, here are the 4 worst gifts to give on Valentine’s Day:
1. Chocolate: Chocolate is synonymous with Valentine’s Day, really what does it have to do with love?
2. Flowers: I love a great bouquet of flowers like the next one, but again, what do flowers have to do with love? It’s such a cliche gift. Try again.
3. Wine: As a wine newbie I must say I enjoy getting a bottle of wine at any time, but seriously, you just trying to … well you know … when you give me the wine. That’s a gift for you, not me.
4. Lingerie: This is really a selfish gift. There’s no value in giving me lingerie … oh, well … maybe for you.
