George Zimmerman’s lackluster website that dedicated to collecting money and complaining about how his life has changed was recently taken down. And now Trayvon Martin’s
alleged killer’s defense team is launching a complete social media takeover for Zimmerman, to give him “a voice.”
“We understand that it is unusual for a legal defense to maintain a social media presence on behalf of a defendant, but we also acknowledge that this is a very unusual case,” Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman’s attorney, wrote on the website,gzlegalcase.com. O’Mara claims that social media these days can’t be ignored, even though he recently said that his client doesn’t need an online presence. Now O’Mara’s changed his whole tune and is setting up Zimmerman online on various social media platforms to discourage speculation, discredit fraudulent websites created in Zimmerman’s name, provide the latest details of the case and of course to raise more money for Zimmerman.

O’Mara says, It would be “irresponsible to ignore the robust online conversation” that surrounds Zimmerman’s name. What’s irresponsible is when Florida Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. denied the request to increase Zimmerman’s bond based on the $200K he raised from his old website.
