Go-Go legend Chuck Brown will be laid to rest today with a memorial service from noon – 3 p.m. today at Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The service will be broadcast live.
Brown, 75, died May 16 after battling pneumonia. Brown, a Gaston native, died at John Hopkins Hospital University hospital in Baltimore. Earlier this week, fans paid their respects to Brown at a public viewing at the Historic Howard Theatre. Thousands streamed into Howard Theatre to view the body of the man dubbed the Godfather of Go-Go.
