After months of negotiating with several NBA teams over the possible trade of All-Star center Dwight Howard, the deal is apparently done. According to ESPN, a trade has been completed involving four teams, the Orlando Magic, Howard’s former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, who now claim his rights, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nuggets. Howard has long ago announced his desire to play elsewhere, and up until a month ago, that planned destination had been the Brooklyn Nets.

Now Howard joins Kobe Bryant in L. A., while the Lakers send their center Andrew Bynum to Philly. The Denver Nuggets will receive All-Star forward an Olympian Andre Iguodala, and the Sixers also get guard Jason Richardson. Orlando will get three players including forward Al Harrington plus a first round pick from each of the other three teams involved. Fans in Orlando have been tweeting all day about their extreme pleasure in saying good riddens to the disgruntled center.
