Iconic female rapper MC Lyte revealed during last month’s Hip Hop Sisters Legend Series held at the Los Angeles Film School during an “Entertainment 101″ panel how she really felt about an incident she regrets involving friend and fellow Hip Hop icon Queen Latifah.
Lyte says she was originally supposed to appear on Latifah’s now classic female anthem Ladies First, but unfortunately passed on the opportunity due to discouragement from partnering with other females in the game around her time. Sitting with guests Monie Love (who did appear on the track), YoYo, Lady of Rage and Lil’ Mama, Lyte said she ended up regretting the chance to participate and encouraged those in attendance to pray for discernment as she broke down how the career mistake actually transpired.
