Another professional athlete is being investigated for charges of child abuse. NBA player, Dwight Howard is being investigated for beating his 6 year old son, Brylon with a belt buckle. The case was intially investigated by the Dept. of Children and Families in Florida (DCF), which determined there wasn’t enough evidence of child abuse to go forward with the case. Although, DCF found the allegations credible, they concluded they did not meet the standard of proof required for formal action. However, it turns out the incident occurred in Georgia. Therefore, Cobb County PD in Georgia has picked up the case and is now actively investigating Dwight Howard for child abuse allegations. Howard admitted that he hit his kid with a belt, saying he didn’t know it was wrong because he was hit as a kid. Howard’s attorney says he’s confident Georgia will reach the same conclusion because “The truth is on our side.”
