On July 14,  Crossroads Charlotte will launch Know It 2 Work It (KIWI) an education and outreach effort that will equip Charlotte-area residents with tools and knowledge to become more effective grassroots organizers, community advocates and participants in the governmental decision-making process in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

It’s Time To Get Real [My Viewpoint]

Know It 2 Work It was created in response to demand from the community for more civic education that started earlier this year during Get Real 2011 – people have realized that they have to KNOW the system to WORK the system,” says KIWI Project Manager Jason Fararooei.

KIWI will begin with Civic Summer School classes offered during the summer months together with special programs in partnership with select community organizations.

In the Fall of 2011, Crossroads Charlotte will release KIWI workshops, 2-hour sessions designed to be hosted throughout the community by self-organized groups that will be supported by facilitation and KIWI materials from Crossroads Charlotte.
