There was a time when you could cut on the radio and listen to what us old folk (and I use that term loosely) call good music. You know what I’m talking about.  The music that speaks to your soul.  That could make you laugh, cry, and recall that time when …

Singers like Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Barry White, Donny Hathaway provided the soundtrack to our lives.  They provided music that helped us grow as individuals and as a community.  Their songs spoke of love and romance, but they also encouraged us to take care of our community.

Today the music is not the same.  It’s all bubblegum and all about the dollars. There are a few musicians that can give us that soul-stirring experience, but in all honesty, there are few true musicians in the mainstream.  Where did the love go? Is soul music dead?
