Charlotte residents elected Patrick Cannon as the City’s new Mayor this week paving the way for Cannon to address unemployment and building a better relationship with Raleigh. Cannon beat out his Republican challenger, Edwin Peacock, by winning 53% of the vote. City residents also approved a $250 million bond referendum that green lights 17 projects for its CMS schools.

State elections around the country appears to be a harbinger of things to come for the 2014 mid-terms. With New Jersey Gov.
