VIA CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

In the coming weeks, Mecklenburg County will begin seeing the effects of the county’s $81.1 million proposed budget cuts.

This afternoon, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library trustees are expected to vote on what may be the first round of closing libraries, according to a Charlotte Observer story.

At Park and Recreation, all programs and services face cuts in coming months, including closings of four recreation centers and the Latta Plantation Nature Center. The department is also losing half of its workers.
