Former Congressman Chaka Fattah was sentenced to ten years in prison for money laundering and bribery that included misusing charity money and government grants for his own personal use.

The 11-term lawmaker immediately relinquished his post as the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees the Justice Department after his indictment last July.
